Turtle Coast & Quiet Beaches
Kosgoda is a low-key coastal strip between Bentota and Ambalangoda known for sea turtle conservation projects and uncrowded beach access. It suits families and transit stops on the Galle–Colombo route without resort-scale development.
Several hatcheries protect nests relocated from busy beaches, educating visitors on threats from poaching, fishing nets, and plastic. Beach walks reveal estuary mouths and village life away from main-road traffic.
One night or a half-day break works well combined with Madu River or Galle — we prioritise ethical hatcheries over show-style facilities.
