What it is
Lipton's Seat Viewpoint — the full experience
Lipton's Seat is a hilltop viewpoint at 1,970 metres above sea level, perched at the edge of the Dambatenne Tea Estate above the town of Haputale. On clear days, the panorama encompasses seven of Sri Lanka's nine provinces — a sweep of emerald tea terraces, blue-green jungle, and distant coastal plain that extends to the Indian Ocean.
Visitors reach the viewpoint by walking or driving through the Dambatenne Estate roads, passing tea pickers at work and passing the tea factory that Sir Thomas Lipton himself built in 1890.
Shorta Tours arranges Lipton's Seat Viewpoint as part of a tailored private itinerary, providing expert guides, comfortable private transfers, and hand-picked operators to ensure a seamless and truly memorable experience.
