Hummanaya Blowhole Experience

Hummanaya Blowhole is a natural geological phenomenon on the south coast near Dickwella where ocean waves are funnelled through an underwater tunnel in the coastal rock and expelled upward through a narrow chimney in the cliff face, shooting a column of water and spray as high as 23 metres into the air with a thunderous roar. The blowhole is most active during the southwest monsoon months (May–October) when larger swells provide greater pressure, and the spectacle repeats roughly every 3–5 minutes as each wave set arrives.

A concrete viewing platform with steps descending to the blowhole entrance provides excellent close-range viewing of the eruption.
